A draught notification for battery waste managementwas recently issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
The rules will apply to all types of batteries listed in Schedule-I, regardless of their size, volume, weight, material, composition, or intended purpose.
The batteries have been divided into two portions under Schedule-I. Primary cells, also known as non-rechargeable batteries, and secondary cells, sometimes known as rechargeable batteries, are the two types. Primary cells include alkaline, aluminum-air batteries, as well as Grove, Clark, and Zinc chloride batteries. A flow battery, Lithium-air battery, and Lithium-ion polymer battery, on the other hand, are categorized under the ca category.
